The SKY Family YMCA this week hosted a neighborhood workshop to discuss a zoning change. The Y is trying to sell the church that is currently on its property. That means a zoning change will be needed to separate the school site from the church site. SKY Family YMCA president and CEO Pat Ryan told the Herald-Tribune the church will be sold to the current tenant- Living Hope Church. The SKY Academy charter school opened in 2015, and for the first time, will have sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students attending this upcoming school year. They’re hoping to change the zone to Office, Professional and Institutional, which would allow for the church portion of the land to be split off.
