Sarasota County’s school board has until February next year to find a new superintendent.
Lori White must retire at that time to collect her retirement benefits.
The school board can either try to hire someone before November, or it can leave the decision to newly elected board members.
The board plans on holding a workshop on this subject prior to its regular meeting Apr. 5.
The Herald-Tribune reports that once the board finalizes a deal with the Florida School Boards Association, it pays $25,000 to help with the search.
