A sea turtle that was found stranded near the Venice Fishing Pier was successfully rehabbed and released back into the wild. The turtle was found on May 24th and was rescued by scientists at Mote Marine Laboratory. Officials said it appeared the turtle was suffering from red tide exposure, which can leave animals comatose and non-responsive. The turtle was then transported by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to the Florida Aquarium, who finally released the creature earlier this month.
