The Small Business Administration has opened a business recovery center to help businesses that have felt the effects of algal blooms, excessive rain, flooding, and the Lake Okeechobee water releases.

This makes low-interest economic injury disaster loans available from the SBA.

Qualifying businesses in Charlotte and Sarasota counties and 18 others can take advantage of this.

The News Service of Florida reports 54 businesses from seven counties have informed the state that they have suffered some form of economic damage from the algae.

One of those businesses comes from Sarasota County.

Businesses that want to know more should visit the SBA’s website.
