WENG reported Monday about a shooting that took place in Manatee County Saturday outside a baby shower and the root of it may have come from a disturbance in Sarasota County. Police say the victim, 29-year-old Jamal Edwards was shot on the 4400 block of Caicos Court in Sarasota County. Edwards was at a club Friday night when a fight broke out in the parking lot. Police believe the fight led to Edwards being shot. Edwards reportedly walked out of the house where the shower was taking place when two men wearing masks and waving guns drove by and shot him multiple times.
