Sarasota County school district teachers and other employees are a step closer to a pay raise. 99 percent of teachers and 96 percent of classified employees voted to approve a new contract. It includes a four percent pay raise for the current school year. The deal with the Sarasota County Classified Teachers Association must still be approved by the school board. It will come up for a vote at their meeting on January 3rd.
