Some kids may consider this good news. Sarasota County students will not have to make up the missed days due to Hurricane Irma. Superintendent Todd Bowden said that extra instruction each day will fulfill the state’s 900 hours that are required for students. The extra time will be paid for through a voter-approved property tax.
