The Sarasota School Board finished Tuesday night with a 4-0 vote to increase salaries for teachers and other employees throughout the district. The increase ranges from 3.25 to 4.25 percent for teachers and a flat 3.75 percent raise for employees who are not teachers. The vote will effect this school year, as well as next and the pay will be retroactive. First year teachers will now receive a salary of just over $43,000.
