Sarasota County has earned the Keep America Beautiful President’s Circle Award for the 14th year. According to the county website, it’s a designation that recognizes exemplary performance by certified communities in creating clean, green and beautiful communities. Established in 1953, Keep America Beautiful consists of a network of 620 community-based affiliates whose programs, initiatives and efforts, which are supported by millions of volunteers, help transform public spaces into beautiful places. Earning the President’s Circle Award means a community has worked to end littering, improve recycling and continually strives to beautify their neighborhoods.
