- Evacuation Order
Sarasota County has extended its evacuation order to Level C. This includes:
- Levels A, B, C
- Manufactured communities
- Mobile or boat homes
- Unsure of your evacuation level? Visit the Know Your Evacuation Level website.
- Evacuation Centers
Evacuation centers will open on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m.
- View the list of evacuation centers before heading to one.
- Note: Riverview High School is no longer an evacuation center.
- Some evacuation centers are within Level C, but after evaluation, officials have deemed them safe and viable options.

- Evacuation centers should be your last resort.
- If you’re in an evacuation zone, try to stay with friends or family outside the area.
- Evacuation Checklist
When heading to an evacuation center, ensure you bring the following items:
- Disinfectant wipes
- Hand sanitizer
- Flashlight (in case of power outages)
- Insurance, Medicare/Medicaid cards, driver license, or photo I.D.
- Children’s immunization and important health/insurance records
- Medications (including dosage information and physician’s contact details)
- Drinking water
- Snacks or special foods
- Bedding and pillows
- Book or electronic entertainment (with headphones and chargers)
- Change of clothing
- Personal hygiene items (including toilet paper)
- Games or comfort items for children
- Pets
All evacuation centers are pet-friendly, but you must bring all pet supplies, including a crate.
- Note: Evacuation centers do not provide chairs, bedding, cots, blankets, or pet supplies.
