Sarasota County Evacuation Centers To Open Tuesday At 8 AM

UPDATE! PREPRATIONS FOR TROPICAL STORM IDALIA:
Sarasota County operations will close today, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m. due to preparations for the storm. Expect Sarasota County operations to also be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 29, and Wednesday, Aug. 30, as the county works to support the Emergency Operations Center and the community during the event of the expected natural disaster.
🟥 EVACUATION CENTERS 🟥
Sarasota County will be opening evacuation centers at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, Aug. 29. Visit scgov.net/beprepared
🟥 SANDBAGS 🟥
Sandbag operations are scheduled to occur from 2-7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 28, and from 7 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the following locations:
– Ed Smith Stadium, 2700 12th Street, Sarasota.
– Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road, Sarasota.
– South County Fleet, 4571 SR 776/Englewood Road, Venice.
