The countywide recreational burn ban in Sarasota County has been lifted. Fire Chief Michael Regnier lifted the ban yesterday that had been in place since April 21st. When the ban was announced, Regnier said it would only stay in place until weather conditions changed and wildfire risks had been reduced. After a week or so of consistent rain, the ban is officially rescinded. Over the past 10 days, the area has picked up nearly 5 inches of rain.
