A high-ranking Sarasota County Sheriff’s official was disciplined after he allegedly verbally berated fellow fans at the March 24th game at Cool Today Park.

Maj. Paul Richard, who also serves as the county sheriff’s law enforcement division commander, was allegedly drunk at the game and off-duty when he began berating fellow fans.

Richard allegedly was shouting to no one in particular that he was a sheriff’s officer, and was criticizing people moving and standing in front of him.

Richard faces only a 6-day, unpaid suspension.
