A convicted Sarasota County sex offender will spend the next 50 years behind bars, then will immediately be on probation following his release.
Christopher McWatt was arrested back in 2014 when Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies carried out a search warrant at his home on suspicion of having child pornography. On his home computer, police say they found 40 files, including 26 videos of kids involved in sexual acts. McWatt was convicted and faced up to a 600 year sentence.
