The former FEMA administrator that led the agency under President Obama is set to deliver his report about Sarasota County’s response to Hurricane Irma. Craig Fugate was hired to provide an independent review of local agencies’ response to Hurricane Irma. At their Wednesday meeting, Fugate will give County Commissioners his recommendations on what the county and others could do differently in the event of another major storm. Two months ago, Fugate previewed his report when he praised the county for its hurricane preparedness and actions during and after the storm, while acknowledging there’s room for improvement.
