In conjunction with a series of school walkout events planned for March 14, the Sarasota County School district says they are trying to work with students and school administrators to plan an observance on that day. The district said they want to let students “plan thoughtful events” during 17 minutes of observation- one for each person killed in Parkland on Valentine’s Day. A nationwide walkout event, called the March for Our Lives, is planned for March 24 during the school district’s spring break.
