Sarasota County Schools are looking into potentially changing their social media policy.
Currently, the district’s Facebook page -which serves as a portal for district news, closings, etc.- is a one way street.
Parents cannot post on the page. That could be changing, potentially as early as next semester.
Because the district now has an entire communications team, the page would always be monitored for violations of terms of use.
Monday’s workshop did not set out any specific policy changes, but officials said any changes would likely not be made until at least spring.
