Sarasota County has announced its latest transportation plan to assist residents with getting to a hurricane evacuation center if they do not have a means of transportation.
The plan provides county residents -and their pets- transportation to a general population evacuation center. It will, however, only go into effect if and when emergency has been declared in Sarasota County.
Various rally points will be staged across the county to pick up those unable to get to a shelter. Residents who pre-register will get an automated message with rally point and pick-up time information.
