A pair of growth plan amendments are on the docket tomorrow for the Sarasota County planning board. One would expand the Englewood Town Center by 54.5 acres, mostly along South McCall Road, to Riverview Avenue. The other growth plan would be to expand the proposed 533-acre Grand Lakes development east of Interstate 75. The hangup on that had been a requirement that ‘affordable housing’ would be included in the development. That has since been added to the master plan by developers. Another point of contention for the board tomorrow is a possible approval of a special exception to allow a medical marijuana dispensary off of Jacaranda Boulevard. The company looking to open the dispensary, Trulieve, already has a location in Bradenton.
