Debris pickup will not stop anytime soon in Sarasota County. According to Scott Montgomery, the Emergency Management Sections Chief for Sarasota County, they plan to pick up more than a quarter-million cubic yards of debris over the next couple months. He’s asking homeowners to speed up the process a bit by putting small piles out for weekly pickup along the roadways. He says the collection process will likely last through the end of the year, as crews work from south to north in the county. The county is also renting ten trucks from sub contractors to help speed up the pick up process, those are expected to arrive to Sarasota County at some point next week.
