The Sarasota County commission yesterday declined to wade into a controversial subject- immigration and so-called ‘sanctuary city’ policies.
Commissioner Christian Ziegler had proposed a resolution saying the county would not release undocumented immigrants after an arrest or ignore a federal immigration detainer.
The Herald-Tribune reports Ziegler “claimed the resolution would let the public know exactly where the county stands on the issue.”
