The Sarasota County Commission yesterday passed by a 4-1 vote a special exception for a 32,000-square-foot car dealership.

That dealership, according to the Herald-Tribune, would be built at the northeast section of the Jacaranda Roundabout, just south of Interstate 75, despite pleas from area residents to reject the project.

Adding fuel to the fire for residents, the developer’s attorney would not say what type of vehicles would be sold there, and the dealership would be run by a reputed Las Vegas gambler…who won’t be out of prison for 4 years because of insider trading.
