Just one day after the Sarasota County Commission approved the first marijuana dispensary application in the county, a second application got the go-ahead. On Tuesday, Bradenton-based Trulieve got the OK for its planned location in the Venice Pines Shopping Plaza on Jacaranda Boulevard . Then yesterday, the commission was a near unanimous 4-1 vote to allow a Sarasota-based company, AltMed, to open a location on Fruitville Road. Both stores fall just outside the city limits of Sarasota and Venice, respectively — the individual cities have banned dispensaries.
