Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport has decided to offer more incentives to airlines that bring new flights.

WWSB-TV reports the airport has chosen to waive two years of terminal fees for airlines that create new nonstop destinations.

It waives one year for airlines that add routes to cities the airport already serves.

The discount costs an estimated $230,000 in revenue, which the airport hopes to make up with more passengers.

Executives call all this necessary to compete with large airports like Tampa and growing ones like Punta Gorda.
