Sarasota County Evacuation Orders Tuesday, September 24

Starting at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning (Wednesday, Sept. 25), an evacuation order will be in place for Level A, manufactured communities, and those in the following neighborhoods:

  • Fort Creek in Englewood
  • Curry Creek in Venice
  • Hatchett Creek in Venice

Evacuation Centers will open at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25. All Sarasota County shelters are pet-friendly.

Barrier islands,

Low-lying and flood prone areas,

Manufactured homes, and homes that don’t meet 1995 building codes.

Warning: Charlotte County has no certified Red Cross shelters. In the event of a hurricane Charlotte County staffed shelters may be opened for citizens to take shelter. All are pet friendly. Charlotte County shelters of last resort may not be able to open depending on the size and direction of an approaching storm.
