Florida’s “sales-tax holiday” starts tomorrow and runs through Sunday. The program was put together by lawmakers this past session md is expected to provide over $91 million in tax breaks. Back-to-school supplies will be up for grabs at costs more affordable to families. The downside is state and local revenue will be reduced by millions of dollars. The holiday allows shoppers to avoid paying sales taxes on clothes and shoes costing up to $60 per item; school supplies that cost $15 or less; and personal computers and related accessories priced at $750 or less. The state has offered back-to-school tax holidays most years since 1998. Computers return to this year’s list after being left out of a 2016 tax holiday.
