A routine fender-bender Saturday evening in Jennings, Missouri, ended with a 63-year-old retired truck driver in the hospital and a family searching for answers. Lance Jeffries rear-ended another vehicle, then got out of his car to check on the people inside. According to his family, several people exited the other vehicle, confronted him, and attacked him. Bystander video appears to show him being kicked, dragged and punched on the ground.
Jeffries was rushed to a hospital, where he remains with swollen eyes, neck and jaw injuries, and blood clots that will require surgery. His daughter says the family is devastated and wants justice. The attackers fled before police arrived, and so far, no arrests have been made. St. Louis County Police say the investigation remains active and ongoing.
The family’s plea is simple: if you saw anything that night in Jennings, come forward. Bystander video already exists, which means someone captured what happened. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact St. Louis County Police. Cases like this move fastest when the public helps.
