Residents of one Venice subdivision are fighting against the location of a new Venice Regional Bayfront Health hospital. The facility is planned for a location on East Venice Avenue, across from Wading Bird Drive, the only entrance to the Blue Heron Pond subdivision. Residents claim hospital traffic would ‘choke’ the nearby Jacaranda roundabout and cause safety concerns for the subdivision. Residents will have formal opportunities to speak, as necessary zoning changes have to pass both the planning board and County Commission.
