It’s been a rollercoaster week for a local candidate for the Florida House.
Less than 24 hours after Melissa Howard vowed to stay in her election race for the District 73 seat, saying she would ‘lead by example from now on,’ Howard has now dropped out of the race, despite her name still appearing on the ballot.
Howard was caught in a lie when she posted a social media with a fake diploma, then claimed her alma mater’s own records were ‘fake news’ when Miami University claimed she never graduated.
In a statement Tuesday, she said she “made a terrible error in judgement.”
