An Associated Press has said that Broward County School District may be the first in the country to stop accepting money from the National Rifle Association. The powerful NRA is believed to have given millions of dollars to schools. The report says that roughly 500 schools received over $7.3 million from 2010-2016. The money, in the form of grants, has gone to school programs, including the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, rifle teams and hunter safety classes.
