Going against his party’s leadership, US Rep Greg Steuebe said this week he supports removing marijuana from its Schedule 1 status.

He made the comments at a town hall meeting sponsored by Concerned Veterans of America at the Suncoast Technical College Conference Center on Wednesday.

Steube said he believes a bipartisan bill would get through the chamber, but admitted that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would likely block it in the upper chamber.
