Three North American river otters were released Wednesday in Punta Gorda, Florida after nearly eight months in care at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife in Sanibel. The orphaned otters spent nearly eight months in care at the Sanibel clinic. Crews at the clinic taught the otters how to hunt for fish and other prey on their own as they grew up. One otter arrived at the clinic in February from Fort Lauderdale, the other two in early March from Tampa.
