A 31-year-old man from Port Charlotte was arrested on Friday during a Sexual Battery investigation by Detectives with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit. Jeffrey Meyer is already a registered sex offender after having to register in Illinois. Police were called to a home in Port Charlotte early in Friday, March 16th and spoke to the adult female who claimed Meyer forced himself on her late in the evening on the 15th. The victim told police she told him no several times but Meyer wouldn’t listen. Deputies also responded to Meyer’s residence, at which time he agreed to provide a statement to the detectives. Meyer was arrested and charged with sexual battery on a person 18 years or older, and violation of probation. He was taken to the Charlotte County Jail.
