For the first time in months, no to only low concentrations of red tide are being reported up and down the Suncoast, and it’s now officially a trend.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, only two Manatee County beaches are seeing elevated counts- the rest of the reporting stations in Sarasota and Charlotte Counties are reporting -if anything- just low concentrations of the algae bloom.

There are still patches reported offshore, especially from southern Charlotte down to Monroe Counties, but as of now, they appear to be staying enough offshore to not deter wildlife or impact water quality.
