The latest red tide report in our area showed the bloom extending from northern Pinellas all the way down to southern Lee counties, extending more than 10 miles offshore.
The good news, though, is that the bloom decreased in Sarasota and Charlotte counties, making it patchier and hit-or-miss along the coast.
Water testing still showed high concentrations in Manatee and Sarasota counties, but there were fewer testing sites showing high concentrations than there were last week.
