Multiple inches of rain helped to ease the drought down near Fort Myers Sunday…unfortunately, that’s where all the rain fell. The official total at Southwest Florida International Airport saw 3.76″ of rain, breaking the single day record for rainfall on April 23rd in Fort Myers. Unfortunately for Charlotte County, all of that rain stayed south of the county line. Punta Gorda Airport picked up only a .02″ of rain since midnight Sunday morning, with similar minimal amounts from Port Charlotte to the Cape Haze peninsula.
