The World Series isn’t over, and Rays fans have Ben Williamson to thank for it. The second baseman delivered a walk-off hit in the 12th inning Tuesday night at Tropicana Field, denying the Milwaukee Brewers their first chance to clinch the championship. Instead of a Milwaukee celebration, the series shifts to a decisive Game 5 Wednesday night in St. Petersburg.
For the Brewers, it’s a missed opportunity they’ll replay all night. One win separated them from the title, and the Rays refused to let it happen on their home field. Extra-inning affairs like this have a way of shifting momentum, and the Rays now get a home crowd with everything on the line.
Wednesday’s stakes are simple: a win forces Game 6 back in Milwaukee; a loss ends the season. If you’ve been waiting to get to the Trop, this is the game. What’s your prediction for Game 5 tonight?
