Two men were arrested by police in Punta Gorda last week, who had been linked to ATM skimmers.
The men were arrested trying to use fraudulent charges at Publix and Circle K on Tamiami Trail. Bank of America reported late last month that more than 300 customers were scammed out of more than $38,000 because of skimmers that had been placed on machines locally.
No word on if those two men arrested were responsible for that scheme. Their identities were not released.
