The highway patrol says a Punta Gorda man likely suffered a medical event before a fatal collision.
It happened yesterday along I-75 near Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers.
The patrol says 74-year-old Joseph Tessier lost control of his Cadillac DeVille while heading northbound.
The vehicle drifted off the shoulder, went through a wire fence, and then hit a sound barrier wall and some trees.
Tessier died at Gulf Coast Hospital Medical Center.
