Police in Charlotte County have captured a man they say broke into a Punta Gorda home to steal a cell phone. Officials say deputies tried to approach 33-year old Kyle Bratcher while he was sleeping in a car with his girlfriend at a house on Riviera Court on Friday morning. When Bratcher noticed the deputies approaching, they say he sprinted off and jumped into a canal behind the home. After fleeing, he allegedly broke into a Mandalay Road home and stole a cell phone. He was finally taken into custody Monday- no further details were given.
