An 8-year-old Punta Gorda girl made history recently. Roxy Getter is now the youngest female ever to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. She climbed the 19,341-foot mountain in Tanzania with her family, including her 10-year-old brother. Her mother, Sarah Getter, said the family used stadium stairs, parking garages and bridges as their training grounds. She said the trek up the mountain was also the first time the family had ever even camped out.
