PUNTA GORDA- It’s now been 40 consecutive months since Punta Gorda Airport has seen a drop in passengers. Each month for the past three-plus years has seen an increase in passengers from the year before.
Pam Seay of the airport authority told NBC-2 that Punta Gorda is the only airport in the nation that can boast that long of a passenger growth streak. On any given day, Allegiant Air operates flights to 8-10 cities, Frontier Airlines brings people to and from both Chicago and Philadelphia.

Seay said the more visitors that come, the more people they’re seeing move to the area- something she directly attributes to the success of the airport.
