ENGLEWOOD — Bobbi Sue Burton passed away a few weeks ago, but as she was in hospice she put out a call for donations of plastic eggs, baskets and candy. The public has answered her request.

Burton, the founder of the non profit organization Project Phoenix, made it her mission to deliver baskets to  so the elderly as well as needy children in the Englewood area.  Bobbie and her family also hosted an Easter party for needy children at her resale thrift store at 36 W. Dearborn St., Englewood.

Bobbies husband Bill Werner said Bobbie wanted Project Phoenix will stay open and Operation Easter Basket will continue so that is what he is doing.

Volunteers are collecting items to fill Easter baskets so no one will go without.
