Rep. Michael Grant of Port Charlotte has been selected to serve as the House Majority Whip.
After the Friday announcement, Grant said he is looking forward to using his position to usher in new representatives.
Both the Republican and Democratic members of the House elect their own leaders. The Speaker appoints a Majority Leader who is expected to advocate for their party’s viewpoint on the House floor during sessions.
Grant was Majority Deputy Whip from 2016-2018, and will serve in this role for 2018-2020.
