A Port Charlotte man has died after an Monday crash on Medical Drive in Englewood. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 69-year old William Carlson drove his 2012 Toyota Tacoma pickup on Medical Drive through the intersection of Medical Boulevard and Medical Drive and continued into a grass ditch. The accident happened around 1:20 Monday morning. Carlson was pronounced dead at Englewood Community Hospital- the cause of the crash remains unknown at this time. It’s unclear if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
