A 22-year old Port Charlotte man is dead after an accidental shooting on Saturday afternoon. Officials with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s
Office responded to a home in the 400 block of Dorchester in Port Charlotte for a reported shooting around 4 Saturday afternoon. There, they found family members performing CPR and trying to save 22-year old Joshua Jordan. Officials say Jordan’s father had just returned from a local gun range and was cleaning his weapon when it went off. Jordan was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
