A Port Charlotte neighborhood held a memorial yesterday for a woman who died.

The people of Gulf Cove paused to remember 35-year-old Mariah Klinefelter.

An SUV hit her as she walked her infant son along Appleton Boulevard on Friday morning.

The collision tossed her five-month-old son Noah from the stroller.

WZVN-TV reports he has several broken ribs, a broken clavicle, and a skull fracture.

He continues recovering at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.

The South Gulf Cove Homeowners Association plans on going to a county meeting tomorrow to ask for changes to ensure this does not happen again.
