A woman whom officials called a ‘repeat abuse victim’ will not face any prison time in the stabbing of her boyfriend.

34-year old Ashley Britto had been arrested on a murder charge and plead guilty yesterday to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Police say Britto and Justin Burton shared a home on Lakeview Boulevard in Port Charlotte. Last year, Britto told police she stabbed the man in self-defense after he attacked her after a day of drinking. She has been ordered to attend counseling.
