A North Port couple has been arrested after police say they stole video game equipment from a Venice Wal-Mart, then tried to pawn the items. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Wal-Mart on Tamiami Trail Thursday after employees discovered a number of XBox One controllers had been stolen from their packaging. Surveillance video showed two people- later identified as 27-year old Paul Fields and 26-year old Angelica Bell- removing anti-theft devices from the packages, taking four controllers, then walking out. The couple was later spotted at the GameStop in Sarasota, trying to pawn the stolen items. They both face theft and other charges and are being held on up to $10,000 bond.
