North Port Police have a message for people in the Globe Terrace neighborhood.
They want them to watch for police impersonators.
The department says a man posing as an officer knocked on a door and told a homeowner he had worked on a case.
Police call this man a fraud.
They describe him as an African-American man standing six feet 180 pounds.
Police say he wore a white short-sleeved shirt with buttons, black slacks, and black shoes.
